Water is Blue
by Aunt Kelly & Uncle Mark, for our nieces and nephews
Black bears are black (but sometimes they're brown). Teddy bears are cuddly for when you lie down.
Water is blue. I'm sure that you knew! At least it looks blue to me. How 'bout you?
What if your water was brown like your bear? "A glass of mud, please" You wouldn't dare!
"Would you like dirty water?" what would you say? I think you might say, "I'm not drinking today!"
And that would be wise. Brown water is bad. But some babies drink it. Isn't that sad?
They have no other choice but to drink where they bathe--Where the elephants poop, and goats make a wave.
Sadly, I'm telling you something that's true. Not every child drinks water that's blue.
Some children's water is brown like your bear. They don't have blue water, it just isn't there.
They walk a long way with their moms by their side to get dirty water. They drink it, and cry.
Their little sick tummy's want water that's blue. You know who can help them? Yep! It's me and it's you!
There are many good people on the clean water crew. It's not just us-- but there's so much to do!
When we work together we can get much more done! Shoulder to shoulder under GOD's big bright sun!
Bright and yellow like a can that I carry. Perfect for water- "I call my can Jerry!"
But today let's fill Jerry with dollars and dimes, We ALL need clean water so we must not waste time!
Let's do all we can to get our Jerry cans filled with WHOLE LOTS of money to get water wells drilled!
There will be water pumps, solar pumps-- all fountains of joy! Creating happy tomorrows for each girl and boy!
